The course shall focus on preparing the participants to act as Certified Translators within the context of Islamic Republic of Iran. To this end, a full review of the related rules and regulations shall be made to explore the tasks, problems and situations and how to manage them.

Trajectories of Certified Translators

The course shall focus on preparing the participants to act as Certified Translators within the context of Islamic Republic of Iran. To this end, a full review of the related rules and regulations shall be made to explore the tasks, problems and situations and how to manage them.

Translating Contracts

The course deals with translating Contracts from Persian into LOPT (Languages other than Persian) and vice versa. A brief introduction is made to the key concepts of contracts, followed by practical examination of some commercial contracts. Elements of legal writing style as they relate to such documents will be introduced as essential preparation for this type of translation work. Attempts shall be made to cover both terminology and structure in addition to the register and jargons in commercial contracts.

Legal Translation

The course contributes to acquisition of knowledge of legal translation. A brief introduction is made to legalese, followed by practical examination of legal texts . Elements of legal writing style will be introduced as essential preparation for this type of technical translation work. Attempts shall be made to cover both terminology and structure in addition to the register and jargons in legal texts.

Legalese for Translators

The course shall contribute to knowledge of legalese as a competency needed for translators seeking expertise in legal translation. An introduction shall be made to law, followed by examining the key elements of legal writing style as they relate to legal translation. Attempts shall be made to cover both terminology and structure in addition to the register and jargons in legal correspondence and contracts.

Legalese for Lawyers

The course shall contribute to knowledge of legalese as a competency needed for translators seeking expertise in legal translation. An introduction shall be made to the principles of translation, followed by examining the key elements of legal writing style as they relate to legal translation. Attempts shall be made to cover both terminology and structure in addition to the register and jargons in legal correspondence and contracts.

Commercial Correspondence

The course deals with translating and Commercial Correspondences from Persian into LOTP (Languages other than Persian). A brief introduction is made to the concepts of commercial correspondences, followed by practical examination of some related texts. Elements of commercial writing style as they relate to Commercial Correspondences will be introduced as essential preparation for this type of translation work. Attempts shall be made to cover both terminology and structure in addition to the register and jargons in legal texts and documents.
